In this absolutely, bloody brilliant seminar, we will focus on all those tiny words which help us a great deal when expressing the extent of our excitement, enthusiasm, or boredom. Some of these words boost and intensify meanings, others function as diminishers, some of them might even do both.
It seems as if new degree modifiers easily emerge, some of them however stay in specific social groups or hardly spread beyond specific registers. So, if you are enough, very, a bit, pretty, well, or weirdly interested in what we might discover about the origin, use, and function of degree modifiers, then this seminar is the place to be.
