Reflektionen über Frauen* und Männer* auf der Flucht

Ende 2021 waren weltweit rund 89,3 Millionen Menschen auf der Flucht. Während der Fokus von humanitärer Hilfe oder öffentlicher Aufmerksamkeit besonders auf geflüchteten Frauen und Kindern liegt, wird indes die Situation von Männern und LGBTIQ* Geflüchteten weitestgehend ausgeblendet. Dabei spielt Geschlecht grundsätzlich eine bedeutende Rolle, wenn es darum geht, Lebensrealitäten und Erfahrungen geflüchteter Menschen besser zu verstehen.
Vor diesem Hintergrund beleuchtet dieses Seminar verschiedene Aspekte von Gender im Kontext von Flucht und möchte zu einem tiefergehenden Verständnis dieser Differenzkategorie beitragen. Ziel ist es, Prozesse geschlechtlicher Zuschreibungen zu dekonstruieren, die Vielfalt geschlechtsspezifischer Erfahrungen und Lebenssituationen geflüchteter Menschen zu analysieren und auf diese Weise Gender als wirkmächtige Kategorie im Kontext Flucht zu reflektieren.
Nach einer einführenden Beschäftigung mit Grundlagen und zentralen Begrifflichkeiten, lernen die Teilnehmenden Gender als soziale Kategorie gesellschaftlicher Zuschreibungen, Normen und Erwartungen kennen. Daran anknüpfend werden in drei Teilen Lebensrealitäten geflüchteter Frauen, Männer und LGBTIQ* Personen vertiefend beleuchtet. Dabei liegt der Fokus darauf, wie und auf welche Weise Gender Einfluss auf die Gefahren und Herausforderungen, denen die drei Gruppen ausgesetzt sind, auf ihre Bewältigungsstrategien sowie auf ihre medialen Repräsentationen nimmt. Durch den abschließenden Einbezug intersektionaler Perspektiven sollen in gemeinsamen Diskussionen weitere soziale (Ungleichheits-)Kategorien reflektiert und dabei eruiert werden, in welchem Zusammenhang diese im Kontext von Flucht und Gender stehen.
Das Blockseminar kombiniert Präsenzlehre im Seminarraum und Gruppenarbeit, in denen die Studierenden in Kleingruppen ein Referatsthema erarbeiten. Die Einführungssitzung im Oktober findet online statt.
