In the first part of the seminar, we will talk about basic and general philosophical approaches to ethics: Consequentialism/utilitarianism, deontological theories, virtue ethics, etc. In the second part, we will discuss more applied topics related to cognitive science: Data ethics, ethical problems concerning highly automated systems like “autonomous cars” or drones, “online friendship”, specific moral problems of Big Data, and the like; also animal testing and animal ethics in general.

The course is on an introductory level.
The course counts as "intensive seminar" for "Philosophy of Cognitive Science" (examination regulation from 2019) and requires a presentation, short wiki contibutions and a seminar paper.
