Beschreibung
The course introduces techniques and packages that are useful for applying Python in a scientific context. The course will cover topics like numercial computing (using numpy, jax, etc.), data visualization (using matplotlib, seaborn, etc), data handling (pandas). We will also touch techniques like python packaging, git workflows, shell programming, and high performance computing. The lecture will feature exercises to be solved at home and discussed in tutorials as well as a final project.
The course is intended for Bachelor students or Master students with a background outside of computer science. The course assumes a basic command of the Python programming language and familiarity with simple programming concepts as for example taught in "Basic Programming in Python".
